Rottnest Blues

Rottnest Blues is an acrylic on board. I enjoy layering colour at different levels within the picture to evoke a sense of space and atmosphere. Looking across the waters of Rottnest during the May holidays watching for the changes in the weather. The dry summer grasses open up in parts to create a window to the distant waters and landscape. As the cooler weather begins and the sun changes position in the sky, the colours of the sky, sea and land change by the minute on any given day. These colours are only momentary and often are unable to be captured by a camera.

Still Calm-The lakes near Lake King

Acrylic on canvas of the lakes around my home town of Lake King in the south east of Western Australia.
I love the vast space, the openness, the freshness, the unknown in the distance, the silence, the energy energy and the solitude of this area.
