Ancient River Flow

"Signs of Spring" is an acrylic on canvas landscape painting of the water pools on the vast saltlakes of the Lakes district of Western Australia at the beginning of spring. The colours of these lakes are ever changing as the light changes when it hits the distant shapes, landscapes and water. Layers on layers of thin and thick paint help to create the sense of massive distance between the background and the and the foreground. Seasons Exhibition Spring

Ancient River Flow is an acrylic on canvas landscape painting of the water pools on the vast saltlakes of the Lakes district of Western Australia at the beginning of spring. The lakes are a part of the ancient Swan River system that started from Lake King and meandered all the way to Perth. The colours of these lakes are ever changing as the light changes when it hits the distant shapes, landscapes and water. Layers on layers of flowing thin and thick paint help to create the sense of massive distance between the background and the foreground.   Flow Exhibition 2011

Opening night at the Art Melbourne Exhibition was a buzz. Several thousand people bustled through the Royal Exhibition Centre to get a look at the many thousands of exhibition pieces waiting to be snapped up by new owners.

Painting demo at Driftwood

It was a fun and exciting experience doing a painting demonstration at the entrance of the Driftwood Winery and Restaurant yesterday. Many people came through and were very interested, wanting to know about the process I used to create a painting. Volunteer student Lee Masters, also enjoyed the day painting showing how she has achieved so much in only four weeks of doing classes. She has already had several enquiries for possible sales of her work. Go Lee!!!The workshops that Lee attends are available for adults and are currently held in two different locations around Perth. See www.xtraordinar.com for workshop details and painting sales.
